Introduction

The 2026 International Conference on Multimodal Literacies (MLTC26) convenes at a transformative moment for the humanities and the learning sciences. As we move deeper into an era defined by generative AI, interactive media, and decentralized digital spaces, the way we produce, consume, and teach "text" is undergoing a profound evolution. MLTC26 serves as a premier global forum for scholars and practitioners to investigate how the intersection of Literature, Educational Technology, and Cultural Studies is redefining the human experience of learning.

Our mission is to explore "Literacy in Flux"—moving beyond traditional linear reading toward a multimodal understanding of the world. We seek to understand how the cognitive foundations of the learning sciences can be paired with the critical lens of cultural studies to ensure that technology serves as a bridge, rather than a barrier, to humanistic inquiry.

From the study of algorithmic poetry to the implementation of VR in linguistic revitalisation, MLTC26 is where we architect the future of the human word. Join us as we bridge the gap between abstract theory and classroom innovation.
