Abstract

The paper is about the impact of mindfulness-based tea brewing rituals on attention and learning through the physiological events that take place in the brain, particularly in the prefrontal cortex. It discusses what the studies have to say about the functions, brain waves, prediction errors, and the effects of the compounds in tea on the brain. Some studies have shown that attention, in a certain way, can improve the functioning of the prefrontal cortex of the brain, quiet the noise in the brain, and increase cognitive control. Moreover, the compounds in tea, such as L-theanine, can also have an impact on the brain, making the individual calm yet alert, which is important for maintaining attention. Therefore, the physiological events that take place in the body due to tea can help maintain the brain in an optimal state for learning.
