Research and Publication Ethics

AS a member of COPE., We fully adhere to its Core Practices and its Guidelines. The Journal of Science and Technology of Engineering, Chemistry and Environmental Protection (JSTECEP) maintains the highest standards of publication ethics. By following the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) standards, we ensure that our editorial processes are transparent, fair, and held to a global benchmark of integrity.

1. Ethical Oversight (COPE Compliance)

As a member, JSTECEP operates under the COPE Core Practices. This includes:

Journal Management: Maintaining professional policies for handling complaints and appeals.

Intellectual Property: Clear guidelines on copyright and licensing.

Peer Review: Ensuring a robust, double-blind review process that is free from bias.

2. Author Responsibilities

Originality & Plagiarism: Authors must submit only original work. JSTECEP utilizes industry-standard software to screen for plagiarism. We follow COPE flowcharts when dealing with suspected plagiarism in submitted or published articles.

Data Integrity: Fabrication or falsification of data is a breach of ethical conduct.

Authorship: Authorship should be limited to those who have made a significant contribution. All authors must approve the final version of the manuscript.

3. Reviewer and Editor Responsibilities

Neutrality: Editors and reviewers must evaluate manuscripts based on scientific merit without regard to the author's race, gender, or institutional affiliation.

Conflict of Interest: All parties involved in the review process must disclose any potential conflicts of interest.

Confidentiality: The peer-review process is strictly confidential. Reviewers must not use or share the data from unpublished manuscripts.

4. Handling Misconduct

In cases of alleged or proven scientific misconduct, fraudulent publication, or plagiarism, the publisher and the JSTECEP Editorial Board will take all appropriate measures to clarify the situation and amend the article in question. This includes the publication of an erratum, expression of concern, or, in the most severe cases, the retraction of the work.
